What Teachers Really Need

In my Contexts of Schooling class, the first article we had to read was What Teachers Really Need by Scott Mandel. For me, this article was very powerful because it explains what teachers need, especially in the first year of teaching.
However, the problem is that the teachers are not getting what they need, which in result is making many teachers quit after their first year. This is happening because many first year teachers need mentors, workshops, and other government funded programs to help them survive. The author shares a story about this young woman "Monica" who is overwhelmed not because of the children in her classroom but the everyday stress and frustration of teaching. However, without a proper introduction to this profession, some ( not all) will suffer.
After reading this article, we were asked to write a summary, and reflection.
